VODIE & SAIDI'S DEATH: AWAKE DEAR CHRISTIAN!

If Real Madrid were to play against Barts Football Club, who would win the match? I am sure the first question you are asking is, "Who is Barts FC?" It's obvious Real Madrid will carry the day. Certain things are predictable. 

Similarly, from a human perspective, if you asked me when Vodie Baucham or Saidi Chishimba would go to glory, I would imagine them in their old age, retired and well advanced in years. This is what the human mind would expect. However, our days are numbered by the Lord. He alone knows the days allocated to us. The days can be more or fewer. What does this mean for us who are still alive? 

1. Let us seek heavenly treasures. Dear Christian, do not build earthly empires. The mindset of an unbeliever tells him he only lives once and death annihilates him. He has no life after death, so he must do all that he can for himself, for his children, and for his children's children. This mindset is spiritual poison. A person who sets his mind on building earthly empires gets knocked down terribly when death strikes closer to home. 

 2. Let us love sincerely. When was the last time you showed that person how much you love him and care for him? Dear married couples, does your spouse know that you love him? 

 3. Let us serve the Lord. One hymn writer says, "Let us labour for the Master from the dawn until the setting sun." At the end of the race, this is what matters the most. 

Dear friends, let us not just talk and sing about a city whose builder and maker is God. Yes, we have no abiding city here, but we do not seem to be living like it. Let us lay up treasures in heaven.
